The King Stag draws us to a fantastical world surrounded by magic and mischievous actions from the characters. The lighting design acts as a constant reminder of this world throughout the duration of the performance. Through special effects, colors, and more, we are able to see the various forms of magic happening on stage. The lighting design brings the elements of fantasy to new heights, aiding the actors in creating these magical moments. It will feel exciting and capture the attention of the audience as we move to the edge of our seats, wondering what this magic will bring next to the Kingdom of Serendippo. Contrary to this style of design, there are multiple different locations being brought to life. Whether we are in the Town Square, the Chambers, or the Forest, the different styles of design will complement the scenic design to portray these changes. Although the lighting effects play an important role in the story, the realistic elements of the scene remain the main focus of the design, guiding the audience through King Deramo’s story.
